PTSD Is My Life

The internal medal for the wars I still fight
I hear that my friend!! Lest my copping off is with the more manly mans! I like your user name, I only come here to calm the waves if the dread that reality has bestowed upon my heart, my brain and my spirit. I don't have to run so fast in my dreams, but I still wake up screaming.........
My partner told me last year she was "pissed off & bored" with my waking her in the night whilst calling out battle orders, screaming and particularly sobbing and whispering to someone (sometimes) whilst holding her arm and pulling her into my chest and stroking her hair.....I broke my rule and told her the main reasons linking the 2 big annoyances for you here are those reasons the screaming, links to the discovery in Bosnia of freshly massacred family which wasnt my first nor my last but the stand out point was the young girl who was still alive and "mounted" on a thin fence post by err well ramming it up inside her and wrapping her in razor wire when we found her the assailants fired into the air laughing and sped off. this small 8 year old never screamed, never asked for help she just kept saying "stop mina, engleski, stop mina, UK?OK stop mina" she was connected to at least 6 maybe more P-ROM mines (jumping mines) which where also connected to trip wires all over the surrounding 5-8 metres/yards we had no choice. We could get no assistance the weather cutout helicopters and the volatile nature of the area meant we where alone and had to deal with it, We shot her, not me personally but we all agreed on the course of action including the young girl who just kept repeating UK, OK please, OK UK please, UK OK please and that's how it ended. We photographed the evidence marked the map and wrote our report.....its not the multitude of dead nor the mutated many but the one that wakes me screamimg..she thinks that as it was almost 20 years ago (1994) and the holding and sobbing is the repetitive remembering of a colleague, a soldier, I never knew who died in my arms in Iraq in 2005.....Sometimes it makes you wonder, sometimes it makes you cry....
