A rider died after being hit and dragged by a truck in Lipa City, Batangas. The victim was allegedly in the "blind spot" of the truck.
In Denise Abante's report on GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog this Tuesday, the cell phone video footage of the incident on the diversion road in Barangay Inosloban was shown.
The rider who was positioned on the right side in front of the dump truck collided and the victim was dragged a few meters.
"This victim of ours is there on the rightmost side of the truck, so our truck young victim will not really notice when he turns right. When the truck moves forward, he does not know that he has already dragged the...he has already hit the rider," according to the Police Captain Ricardo Cuevas, chief investigator, Lipa City Police Station.
"And considering the size of the truck, he probably didn't feel that he had run over someone and that he dragged it for almost 10 to 15 meters," continued Cuevas,
The victim was taken to the hospital but died.
According to the police, the victim's remains have been returned to his family and the family and the driver of the truck have reportedly spoken.-- FRJ, GMA Integrated News.
