Would you record an accident or dead body?

Been waiting all my life, whether it's in traffic, walking in the city, waiting a train in platform etc, to witness some kind of fatal accident and be able to snatch a vid out of it with aftermath. Obviously, i would upload it and get some internet cred, cool as fuck.

recently found a dead body in a river (i think, english isnt my first language) near to this area where a lot of people walk by it. i was in a boat at the time, right next to the body. I have a video but i cant post it unfortunately. Smell was definitely something new lol

I personally despise the chance of potentially being recorded in public, so I wouldn’t record such things myself (unless it was for journalism and what not, but that’s a different story).

Yeah, tbh I would feel about recording. Maybe I would snap a photo, If no one watched me. But I rather wouldn’t have problems with observing the situation.

Two days ago there was a serious traffic accident near my home, 19 people harmed and 4 in critical condition. I could clearly hear all noises coming from rescue and police, they even used helicopter. At the time I didn't think it's anything serious, because I live between police and fire department, with two hospitals nearby. Sirens and yelling aren't anything special here. When I later found out what was going on, I kinda regretted not seeing it, but at the same time I know I wouldn't just go and stare at the mess like an Indian gawker. And I surely wouldn't record any victims.

That's why I'm curious, would people from 1st world countries openly record victims or bodies in such situation? I feel like it's really frowned upon and that's why we rarely see any footage from these countries. Am I right? Would you gawk and record when witnessing an accident?

Honestly, I can't remember, pretty sure it was a murder. since there was weird disappearances that wouldn't make any sense.
But what happened was basically when the ice was melting for the river "daugava", whatever bodies were there just float upwards and get pushed out to the shore instead. Or sum like that..
