It's because they're still young of mind, but have bodies as big as adults. They sleep and rest in some odd positions.Funny how they hold their feet when laying on the ground; maybe it's because they still young?
Not seen this before on birds in general, I thought they always sit on their feet and they're hidden in the feathers.
Their heads and tails will be fully white in their fifth year. The feather pattern they have around their necks and lower back where it changes from white to brown, will never change even with a molt.When will they get the white feathers on the head? Much later in life or when changing the feathers the next time (molt)?
