Some people seem peculiarly predisposed to murder for no clear reason, could this be a partially spiritual phenomenon?

There exists a certain chunk of murderers out there that murder simply because they like how it makes them feel, and often because they had already wanted to since a young age. I first fantasized about this at age 14 myself. Does anyone else think that there is a spiritual component to that nagging desire to murder? If the soul exists, then wouldn’t it make sense for some to be blacker than others? As someone who struggles with a sort of duality (yes, believe it or not I have a nice side.. 🙄) I have begun to think that maybe it really is something you inherit, or are born with to some degree. Something you carry with you that you were always going to carry. Be it the mark of cain or demonic possession, there is something something intangibly mysterious and ancient about that desire.
I don't believe in anything religious or spiritual so I don't think so but psychological, sure. It's just natural variation in the way people are born and how they adapt to their environment. All the ways in which people are different serve some kind of evolutionary purpose and people who enjoy violence , lack empathy, and have a strong desire to hurt others are just expressing certain human traits much more strongly than other people. It's a strategy that in some cases works well on an individual level, but too many people like this would inevitably lead to disaster, which is why there continues to be a smaller percentage of people like this, it continues to work on a smaller scale

Not spiritual. If anything it would be having closer genetic ties to the Neanderthal, whose saw less value in life. So I guess you could call it ancient in that sense. And this would be lacking empathy and would lean toward the narcissistic spectrum.
Neanderthals get a bad rap. Archeologists have discovered that Neanderthals buried their dead with respect and cared for their injured kinsmen.

Burying the dead and caring for injured was so they could protect themselves from predators and maybe even disease. It wasn't for sentimental value or respect. This could have been instinctive or from watching animals that do it to avoid being preyed upon.

It is usually always a mix of nature and nurture. Even if the individual doesn’t acknowledge it or if it is in the unconscious mind. There is a pre-disposition to certain behaviours due to both. This is my field of study and while I’m still learning, it seems to me that there are very similar aspects in most individuals like this. Certain predispositions on a biological level and environments can create different kinds of individuals and their outcomes.

People who seem to murder “for fun” probably had some experience(s) in life that conditioned them to not have empathy or see the consequences before acting as well as biological differences in the brain. (Narcissism, psychopathy, etc.) Like I said, nature would be being born perhaps missing or lacking in certain areas on a biological level (decreased grey matter in certain regions of the brain etc). Nurture would be for example the case of many serial killers having come from an abusive, absent, or uncaring mother or father, been bullied (resulting in a complex and need to regain control) Which ultimately dictates the nature of their crimes. Together nature and nurture create these issues. But it is always nature that comes first obviously. Nurture is usually just what pushes it over the edge.

Even if a parent of a killer might have had the same urges due to biological factors (aka nature), it is nurture and the experiences in one’s life that ultimately dictates if they act on it or not. As well as if they have the capacity to feel remorse, empathy, etc.

Just realized @Bruno Puntz Jones worded this much more articulately. (My bad Bruno… I didn’t read through the comments until after) Your absolutely right.

I think a lot of sociopathic and sadistic human behavior is a psychological biological glitch (if you will) caused by brain damage from inbreeding. I'm actually fascinated by the psychoanalytic correlation between sadistic antisocial violent behaviors in other humans and their inbred ancestry. Hamas is inbred to the hilt and they can't be trusted to not to be complete uncivilized sociopathic savages (just an example there) Also, Ted Bundy's Grandfather was also his father (another example of that phenomenon). Brain damage makes people predisposed to violent outbursts of random rage. Inbreeding causes brain damage on a biological level. I don't think there's enough scientific research about it and there should be more. The brain and concious awareness remains an anomaly.

There is no spirituality in this: there must always be a reason for murder, either out of sudden excitement or for a nefarious reason planned in advance or by chance,or by accident
These are the three reasons, there are no more
However, if someone kills without a reason, they are not mentally normal, non compos mentis, the school shooters who usually operate in America or those who go into a supermarket with an AR15 and kill people indiscriminately are examples of this
