bizarre Thrown out in front of the door of the hospital, because she couldn't pay the bill.

I love the US and its people, generally.

I have travled there a number of times and the landscapes are amazing, the snow fantastic and your military the worlds best. You saved us Aussies in WW2.

But your health system appears barbaric to me. With all your wealth as a nation I have no idea why you do not have a national health system.

I have full medical coverage here so I can choose my hospital, doctor, surgeon etc. But if I didn't then I'd be admitted to a public hospital and all expenses covered.

I see that as a human right really. For first world countries at any rate.

Just my personal opinion.

But having said that I've worked in hospitals most of my career and have seen the free loaders hogging needed beds. We had one woman who came in with leg pain and then had both legs amputated due to blood clots. Which was horrendous. However she receovered and then stayed in a bed for months as she had no accomodation. Now that's not a hospital issue... my role was to find her accom. Nightmare... she should have been kicked out months earlier... so context has a place here.

this is a wealthy society because it is a capitalistic society...your ways don't matter.

I also have full coverage but only because that was important to me so i chose a job that included it.

Why should lazy sluggards get free health care?

Personally I don't miss it in my tax.

In the Australian context it appears to work pretty well. Jobs never come with health care as part of a package here.

There will always be an underclass or people down on their luck and holding out a helping hand as it were to either them or their children appears, to me at least, to be more humane than not.

Of course there are those who don't give a fuck about their health or their health care and treat the system like shit. I've worked with them in hospital and drug and alchohol.

But I've never had to tell a sick kid's parents to piss off because they've got no health insurance.

This is just my own opinion of course...

My mother, a nurse in England when the NHS came in in the 1950's, told me of all the horror illnesses that came out of the closet at the time like long ignored horror cancers etc. It's not a pretty thought...

There’s also like 50 Australians or whatever, vs a million bajillion in the US.

I’d like to know how much of a pain in the ass the lady was being to get ejected from the hospital.

Cunts remain cunts even when unwell...

I've worked with some real horrors in my hospital career. Especially the drug and alchol ones. One woman, who'm I'd worked with in various jobs over 20 years, didn't like the answer she got from the nurse at the nursing station so she spread her legs and pissed all over the floor. Really classy. A real class act. She was in for treatment for her hand that she'd fucked up injecting into an artery rather than a vein. So there she is making a cunt of her self to people who are only trying to help her.

Re population, yes, Aus is only 27 million but the more you have the greater the collective power to produce and also to share.

Again, I'm not saying Aus is perfect... and I'm not knocking the US. I'm a friend...

^ i never realized Australia had so little people. Besides Crocodile Dundee, it basically doesn’t exist. So little people so much empty land ready for Chinese development.

But you are right about China. The Japs wanted Aus in WW2. Only you Yanks prevented that. Thus I am eternally grateful you your country...

Once you get away from the eastern sea board it's mountains and then desert for thousands of kms. And no one...

It's easy and nice to head out and camp and at night time look out from a high point and see no light except for the stars.

But we need nuke subs and nuke bombs to keep this country ours. Otherwise sooner or later the Chinese will take it. And it would be easy. Our leaders live in a fantasy world where being 'nice' and spouting platitudes appears to make up for our weakness. It's embarrassing really...
