In Almaty, the driver of a Renault truck knocked to death a 7-year-old girl at a crosswalk. The tragedy occurred in front of the child's mother.
The road accident occurred in the afternoon of April 2 in Alatau district of Almaty.
"The driver of a Renault truck was traveling along Burundayskaya Street in the western direction. At the intersection with Novaya Street, he hit a 7-year-old girl. She was crossing the roadway at a marked crosswalk," the Almaty Police Department told Kursiv.
The child died at the scene in front of his mother. The woman instantly ran to the truck. The police opened a criminal case.
"A criminal case has been opened on the fact of a traffic accident that caused the death of a person. All necessary expert studies will be conducted and appointed," - said in the message .
