Milk is just one source of dietary calcium (and other minerals like phosphate etc). Most non-dairy milks are fortified with calcium as are things like flour and breakfast cereals. So you can easily get enough calcium without having dairy.

Having an adequate vitamin D level is more important. Without this we don’t absorb the calcium from our diet properly and can’t put it into out bones. Vitamin D is also a pre-hormone (fuel for making hormones) and involved in the immune system.
