I really wanna get the book 'A Slow Death: 83 Days of Radiation Sickness'. I've been checking on Amazon, it's really pricey and the local bookstores/libraries don't have it. I'm certain it would be an awesome read tho.
Like I said, it's pricey. I'm contemplating getting an ebook reader, it might be easier to download it and even tho I like reading actual books, going electronic may be more beneficial.

It's the shipping that kills. Plus I don't have an account with Amazon. But you're right, it's not as much as I stated. I was remembering Ebay's ridiculous prices.amazon has paperbacks for around $10.00.
I have read the story about this person. Horrible, as he was kept alive as an experiment. Think Nazi/ Japanese death camp type stuff. It's the shipping that kills. Plus I don't have an account with Amazon. But you're right, it's not as much as I stated. I was remembering Ebay's ridiculous prices.

He was begging for the doctors to kill him, but they wanted to experiment radiation exposure at the rate he received it. I'm not sure where my interest comes from. Visiting Pripyat is on my bucket list.I have read the story about this person. Horrible, as he was kept alive as an experiment. Think Nazi/ Japanese death camp type stuff.

The Radioactive Boy Scout
Apparently at a young age, this guy built some sort of nuclear reactor in his backyard, in a shed. Decades later, he was still messing around with stuff he shouldn't have been. Here is a mugshot or a photo from the hospital of him, grown up, with radiation burns on his skin after playing around some more.
