On May 18, 2011, in Quetta, Pakistan, five unarmed Chechens were gunned down by the PAK military at a military check point. Three women and two men were killed.
Accounts of what happened and why they were shot dead varied from one officer to another, until witnesses came forward. This resulted in an inquiry that concluded that neither of the five Chechens were armed or hiding explosives.
Video of the shooting also shows that the Chechens, apparently trying to take refuge at a checkpoint once confronted by a number of PAK soldiers, did not act aggressively before or during the shooting. Dozens of machine guns opened up on the five Chechens and as one female, downed by bullets but alive, raised her hand in a waving motion (surrender, please stop, etc.) the PAK soldiers seemed to take aim at her and continue with a barrage of bullets.
Set 1.
1.
2. Soldiers firing at the downed Chechens (the checkpoint is the sand bagged structure).
3. Inspecting the dead.
4. Pakistani officals at the shooting scene.
