This Yemeni girl is probably about 6 or 7 years old and received a fatal shot to the face from either a soldiers bullet or a militant bullet.

No further details except that it happened in May of 2011.

swelling of the eyes and face, plus the obvious triage indicates that she was alive for a while; probably long enough for them to have at least tried to treat her injuries ! If she were killed instantly there would be no swelling, since that's a reaction of living tissue to injuries....hence the stitching. I don't think a mortician would sew her up like that, they'd more likely use glue, some kind of putty and makeup to sculpt her face back to something resembling its original form

Even though the situation of parental abuse and war may be different, it's a fucking shame, when you see their innocence shattered, right before their/your very own eyes.

...and unfortunately, the anger which started it all is short. Much shorter than the lifetime of scars or even death, that these children have to bear.

I know it's been said before many times, but still I do believe, it bears worth repeating.

Christ, if we can't at least share in the innocence of a child, then what other hope do we have?

...sometime this shit can get pretty fucked up at times.
