My gramps’ brother landed on Normandy and was in while the allied took back France. I’m not sure how long he stayed over in Europe… My gramps was in the navy - on the Pacific Ocean side. He never saw combat; he was in Seattle when Pearl Harbor happened. i’ll ask my dad if he knowns the units.

Out of curiosity, & pardon if you've said but, do you know what your opa did through out the war? I.E. was he a war correspondent or a public affairs photographer?
