MILWAUKEE, WI – Officials say that 21-year-old Elizabeth Luebke stormed out of a party over the weekend and was found froze to death in front of a home nearby.
According to reports, Luebke had attended a concert Saturday night before showing up at a house party.
According to witnesses, she was very drunk when she got into an argument with her friend and stormed out of the house.
The temperature outside was around -5.8 degrees with a wind chill of -27.5 degrees, and Luebke was wearing nothing but stockings, shorts and a tank-top.
When Luebke didn’t return to the home, someone called her mom, who drove to Milwaukee to look for her daughter.
At around 9 a.m. Sunday morning, a passerby found Luebke’s frozen body in the front yard of a home around the corner from the party she had left.
Police say that a surveillance camera in the neighborhood captured Luebke collapse to the ground just before 4:30 a.m. at the address her body was located.
Luebke’s mother told investigators her daughter was hospitalized last October with a blood alcohol content of 0.40 after she was found unresponsive at a bar. On Dec 19th, Luebke posted that she had been sober for a month.
If true, this was one hell of a way to fall off the wagon.
We’ve reported on a couple of similar incidents over the years, including 18-year-old Joseph Wiederrick, who was found froze to death after leaving a fraternity party and 18-year-old Ashley Quarterman, who froze to death after leaving a Valentine’s Day party.
