HELLBILLY
It is a tragic world where any child goes hungry, before an adult. I don't like it, as much as the next person, but I truly believe we need to focus our guilt into help the little ones in between our shores and borders. How good are we to the world if we cant help ourselves? Help local food pantries, donated close to home in your county or township or parish, where ever you are. There are people in rural areas that need your help.

cause it glitters doesn't mean it's gold
There's more than enough money, technology and brains on the globe, no one should be hungry or without water.
There's a bigger game at play and the powers that be rule the field.
We just sitting in the stands, waiting... shit gonna get worse. We can only go down from here.

Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong when your government does it.

Communism is bad, mmkay folks.

I do not believe here in the USA, here in 2016, 99.99999 % of Americans in the USA have any concept of what it really means to go hungry and not have any option or ability of finding something to put in your stomach considered to have any nutritional value in the future either, and have to watch your family go through that shit and be helpless to save them.

You would be wrong. The United States has one of the highest child poverty rates.

Besides, why are you concerned with Venezuela? They're not our problem. If your going to be one of those online social justice advocates, get your facts straight and do it for you're own country.

That was all sarcasm. I'm sorry, Wayne, but it really pissed me off when people talk about feeding children in third world countries when we have kids starving here. The Midwest where there used to be factory jobs or in the Coal Belt where everyone just to go work in the mines? These are EXTREMELY rural areas where if you "ain't got no car and ain't got no job", how are you going to feed your kids?
Where did I mention anything about the US being obligated to do anything at all! It is an event that is taking place on the planet we call home, you know, a news type deal, or so I thought!

Voices: Venezuela's food shortage is daunting

"Venezuela's economic collapse is due to many factors: falling oil prices that have reduced the country's revenue, but also a socialist revolution that has resulted in the expropriation of more than 1,200 companies and the imposition of stifling price and foreign exchange controls that have crushed businesses and slashed national production."

Even if the US wanted to, interfering is not an option.

Venezuela sells its oil to America, it always has. If they didn't obey the petrodollar you'd have another dead dictator.
I'd say American politicians think it's entertaining to watch socialist countries crushed by global capitalism, they don't have to shoot anyone, just watch it burn. It doesnt work on china tho

Most likely because US borrowed boatloads of $$$$ from China. Who wants the note holder getting ticked off?

Venezuela is not a third world country but they have their fair share of shit going on there that affects regular people from most levels of society. The OP was just reporting that there is a crisis there...not that the States, lol, not the Americans, have to do anything about it. Canada will do the same if it decides to help out Venezuela even though we also have our own people who are starving here.

Hell the States invaded Iraq, blew the shit outta of them, spent trillions on the whole thing for nothing and then ended up trying to feed the people that their invasion had displaced at further cost to the taxpayers. I know it's not the same as the situation in Venezuela but governments will still do the same thing. Our governments aren't interested in what us regular folks think - it's international imagery - and they will do as they please with tax payers money. There's a saying, "Give the government the Law." Which means, we elected you and by Law you are bound to address and deal with issues in (whatever country).

Atleast in the States and Canada we have a fair share of Food Banks, Soup Kitchens, food trucks, etc. that hungry, low income people can access when in need. I don't think they're living quite the same way in Venezuela. Cut them some slack and cut the OP some slack too. It was only News, not a mass food drive campaign.

Hey they wanted their "Bolivarian Revolution" and told their businessmen and the rest of the civilized world to fuck off. They elected asshats that spent billions of dollars in soviet and Chinese weaponry instead of investing in their people. They are the ones that put people in charge that created a fictitious economy subsidizing absolutely everything with oil exports revenues. When oil plummeted they starting bleeding money hard, and that was no left to chance. The US and others kept the oil prices down to hurt Russia and Venezuela (as Venezuela is a huge supporter of communism). They need to grab their machetes and go chop some heads at the government buildings. We should get plenty of video available since even the homeless have a cell phone there.

Some of Venezuela's natural resources include petroleum, natural gas, gold, bauxite, iron ore, diamonds and hydroelectric power. Petroleum, as well as other petroleum-derived commodities, account for around 95 percent of the country's total export revenues, with the combined oil and gas industries contributing an estimated 25 percent to Venezuela's Gross Domestic Product.

Venezuela is situated in the northern coastal region of the South American continent along the Caribbean Sea. The country encompasses a total area of around 352,144 square miles, sharing land borders with Colombia, Brazil and Guyana.

Venezuela is one of the leading global producers and exporters of petroleum. As of 2014, the country has 298,350 million barrels of proven crude oil reserves with 2,789 barrels per day of petroleum production, based on an online report by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), of which Venezuela is a founding member. The republic also has abundant deposits of natural gas, with 5,581 billion cubic meters of proven natural gas reserves and an economic output of 21,820 million cubic meters.

Aside from exporting crude oil and refined petroleum products, Venezuela exports the majority of its natural resources, including aluminum, bauxite and mineral ores. The country also heavily relies on its vast hydroelectric sources for its supply of electricity. Excessive electrical utilization has led the government to plan for future expansion of its hydro-power production.

Fourteen years under the socialist paradise of Hugo Chavez took a once solvent country to the very brink of ruin.
