What’s happened to this new wonder drug trump was banging on about HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN ?.

Oh Hydroxychloroquine is just a drug that trumpy happens to have stock in.
It's an anti-malarial drug used in places that... Have malaria. You know. Those "shit-hole" countries.
The continuous US would have some for rheumatoid arthritis.
But it is not prescribed commonly around here where smaller pharmacies would keep a supply. If the small pharmacy DOES have some... It would prob be 1 bottle on hand. Big box places might have a few.

At least until doctors prescribe it and run the pharmacies out in a few days. Then there will be no more for some time while more is made to satisfy demand. Then when the drug (an old one whose patent has gone generic) returns it will cost more.
Then maybe a "new and improved" (patent protected for hella $$$ now) comes out with a higher strength; or is released with the additional drug Azithromyacin to really make some money off the desperate and sick.

Azithromyacin (with Z-Packs being a premade dosage packet) is a standard antibiotic. The quantity used is on the upper end of dosage of the drug commonly administered with tablets as opposed to the higher milligram shots of Azithro for strong infections.

The suggestion is to take the Hydroxych with a zpack. Because hey, you're dying. What have you got to lose?

I think the plasma from Covid patients is going to be the better option but we'll put that off until the Trumps can make enough off their drug.
