At the onset, these German soldiers were young - no different that most of the Allied forces. But it seemed that Germany had no end to how many could enlist.
The German forces committed many atrocities and war crimes during WW2. Aside from the Holocaust, I'd think that the Allies (American, Canadian, British, French, etc) also committed their fair share of war crimes (killing prisoners, torture, mutilation, murder of civilians, rape, etc) that would equal the Germans.
But it is the victors of war that get to write the final chapter.

Destroyed convoys in Normandy 1944
One of the very last defenders of Cherbourg, Cpt. Earl Topley blamed him for killing three of his soldiers. 27.6.1944
Stug III destroyed in the bombing runs prior to Operation Cobra on 25.7.1944, inspected by soldiers of 3. armored division
A SS-Junker of 1. SS Panzerdivision Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler, probably also Normandy
narrow roads in the Bocage, Normandy:

Member of the Reichsarbeitsdienst, who had to fight in the end stage of the war, too. Batallion 185, Brandenburger Tor, Berlin 1945.
Probably the same guy in another scene in Berlin. The Soviets simply loved to photoshop before it was cool...I have no clue which one is original.
SdKfz 251/7Neu of 11. SS Frewiilligen Panzergrednadierdivision Nordland on the Friedrichstrasse in Berlin 2.5.1945.
This was the command vehicle of SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Hans-Gosta Persson, it was destroyed in a brakout attempt in the night from 1. to 2. may. The dead girl in the back was a nurse.
Fallen crew member of a Panzerjäger Tiger (P) Ferdinand in Battle of Kursk, July 1943.
Maybe killed American soldiers ? I can't spot anything specific German on them and the lie in front of destroyed Sherman.
Posed British propaganda shot in North Africa. The 'German' soldier wears British socks and boots.
I'll check if I have also some pics for this thread.
